A Personal History of Computer Graphics

Some of the guys from Pixar recount in this informal chat how they literally created much of computer graphics in the early 70s, from frame buffers, to alpha layers, while all the time being driven completely by the need to tell good stories.

Thanks Alex! It is a long watch, but really entertaining and genuinely educational. What amazes me is how these guys have been there from the beginning, making the first graphics card from 4 frame buffers (R,G,B, Alpha), worth something like a million dollars in todays money. Z-buffers, efficient 3D curves, texture-mapping, all invented by these guys for the purpose of telling better stories!
