Modelling Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button

Ed Ulbrich at TED, describing how they 3D captured the actor, applied this acting to an aged model of his face, and then inserted it seamlessly into the film Benjamin Button:
"…we ended up with a 3D database of everything Brad Pitt's face is capable of doing."

Phenomenal in both what they achieved and how realistically they did it. I saw the film and never even realized.

When I saw the film, some of shots did stand out as being fake to me. You could often tell by the lighting on the skin not feeling right, or especially the eyes, something as the speaker said is extremely hard to get right.

I wasn't aware of how phenomenal, as you say, the process behind it was. That was astonishing.
